My Top and Bottom teeth don't touch anymore after getting my fixed retainers back?

my wire in my top retainer broke before christmas and it took them at least 8 weeks to get them back to me (2 weeks after i got my new impressions done) and i have them back now..been wearing them. and now my top and bottom teeth are not rubbing together when i go to smile. is this normal or is something wrong?
